Designed and built in 2007, this custom home has five split levels and 3,136 sq. ft. of living space.

It's located on top of a mountain ridge overlooking the City of Boulder and the front range of Colorado. The front entrance is very subtle however once inside the foyer it has steps up to the main level and views of the canyon below!

The client's office has an awesome view of the front range nearly a thousand feet below. He's also an avid rock climber and wanted this outcropping of granite near his office. The lower level is a secondary bedroom and it too has breathtaking views.

The great room overlooks the City of Boulder Colorado with a three car garage below. The master bedroom is on the opposite side of the great room and has amazing views of the canyon below.

This custom home has seven split levels and also has amazing views of the Colorado front range. Because of it's location, we worked closely with the local fire department to assure their ability to access the home, if needed.

The back of this awesome home is very subtle and blends into the landscape. The slope is very steep as seen in the road below!

This side of the home looks down onto the front range of Colorado with the City of Boulder to the Southeast. The great room is in the center of this photo with a bridge at the back of the great room connecting both sides of the home. The views from the bridge are spectacular providing an elevated view through the great room windows down onto the front range below.

Most of my designs are moderate and are really my meat and potatoes. I design a lot of homes like this and I enjoy these projects as much as the larger, more complex homes. This home has many great features such as the bonus room above the garage. I really enjoyed working with the builder because he was so inspirational. He and I worked well together.

This is a home that included both a builder and client and they were both great to work with!  The floor plan was awesome but one thing I preferred to be different is the single window above the front entrance. But this is what the client wanted. I preferred three windows to match the rest of the front elevation. I'm a strong believer in the Fibonacci sequence.

Notice the cantilever on the right side of the home on the upper floor. This is a window seat for one of the secondary bedrooms and it was an awesome feature! This home has a wrap around porch on three sides of the home. It's a great feature for those who want to spend time outdoors! The downside is that the basement level is limited for window space. Some permit offices require 10 percent of window space compared to floor space. That was not the case where this home was constructed. I point this out because it's so important to be aware of  required design guidelines.

The builder sold this house in two days! He was great to work with. Designing smaller homes like this is the core of my business and I really enjoy designing them.

Another home with a wrap around porch on two sides. This home has a very large bonus room above the garage designed for large family gatherings!

The style of this fireplace was the builder's idea and it's very fitting for this house. I just had to include it! I suppose I should have moved the building materials before taking the photo though!
